What is naturopathy, and what does a Traditional Naturopath do?
First of all, you won't find the conventional white coat and backside-revealing gowns. While a stethoscope or labs may be used at times and specialists may be referred to, a naturopath is a generalist, trained in methods of drugless healing.
So, what’s the difference between a Traditional Naturopath (what I am) and other Holistic Health Practitioners? As it turns out, not much. I had the option of either title when I graduated school and felt the latter was better recognized. I use the terms interchangeably. A naturopathic doctor is actually a teacher, helping a client (not a patient) to take responsibility for his own health, using naturally occurring substances and methods to encourage the body’s inherent ability to heal itself. By integrating various healing methods—including homeopathy, herbal remedies, nutrition, and lifestyle coaching—I'm able to support you with overall wellness. I use Muscle Response Testing (often called Applied Kinesiology) to assess the body as a whole, find underlying imbalances, and discover which supplement your body can best use. You are unique, and you deserve to be treated as such.
Because I am not a medical doctor, I do not diagnose or treat disease names or prescribe pharmaceuticals. Instead, nutrition, homeopathy, phototherapy, and lifestyle strategies are recommended to support the body’s natural healing abilities. Time-honored healing traditions are blended with modern knowledge to offer truly individualized care. Some people thrive on structured fitness and supplementation, while others benefit most from homeopathic support, stress management techniques, or herbal teas. Your body, as the one doing the healing, tells me what you need at this particular juncture in your healing journey.
🔹 Health isn’t just about genetics. Many chronic concerns are rooted in diet, lifestyle, and stress, not just family history. Too often, the family tendency toward a particular weakness can be traced to Grandma’s recipe box. The good news? Much of what’s considered "normal aging" can be reversed with the right approach.
🔹 There are many ways to heal. Homeopathy is often better suited for toddlers and sensitive people, or those who might not be able to swallow pills. Nutrition and fitness are important for everyone but may look different for each person. Some people respond better to cups of herbal tea at intervals throughout their day to break stress patterns and refocus their mind and body on healing; others may only need an accountability partner. What matters is what’s appropriate for YOU.
🔹Every healing path is unique, and I don't know everything. I preface every day with prayer, because the Bible says that "the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up." (James 5:15a) I want God to guide me, your body to speak to me, and wisdom to interpret that into measurable results.
Dr. Nicholas Gonzalez once said: "Over the years, I have come to recognize certain intangible qualities that I invariably see in my successful cancer patients. These include an enormous capacity for faith, a quality of trust, fearlessness even in the face of death, and gratitude."
Your body is designed to heal—sometimes it just needs the right support. If you’re ready to explore what’s best for you, let’s talk.
