Everyday Essentials: Natural Solutions for Healthy, Resilient Living

Bumps, bruises, sniffles, and stressful moments happen every day. To stay ahead, it’s essential to build resilience—not just in your body but also in your preparation. Over the years, I’ve discovered natural remedies that I rely on for everyday health challenges. They’re simple, effective, and always within reach.


Now, I’m excited to share these tried-and-true essentials with you so you can create your own wellness toolkit. Let’s explore the must-haves that keep my family healthy and ready for anything life throws our way!


1.      Celtic Sea Salt. This is more than the table salt you grew up with; it’s a full-spectrum mineral supplement. Most people are deficient in key minerals, which opens the body to failure in many small ways. Standard table salt is only sodium, chloride, and usually iodine, which causes imbalances in the body’s other minerals. Celtic Sea Salt is a naturally occurring source of 74 minerals and trace minerals to support energy and metabolism.  Sprinkle a little on every meal to keep your family's health in peak condition. Use a pinch in your water as a natural electrolyte booster during workouts. The recommended daily amount of salt for an adult is a little over a teaspoon, but you’ll know if you’ve had enough when salt no longer tastes good.


2.      Silver solution and gel. Silver is a powerful tool against bacteria, viruses, and fungi, making it a versatile alternative to antibiotics. Unlike colloidal silver, silver solutions use nanoparticles that don’t accumulate in the body, reducing risks like argyria (skin discoloration). It can be taken internally for infections or applied externally to cuts, burns, and rashes. Because bacteria don’t develop resistance to silver, it remains effective for repeated use without contributing to antibiotic resistance.

For internal use, I prefer American Biotech Labs (Silver Biotics) because of its purity—its clear appearance is a sign of quality. 10 ppm is the ideal concentration for most needs, and I take 1 tsp, 3x daily when illness strikes. While I’ve occasionally used 30 ppm for stubborn infections, higher concentrations aren’t necessary—nanoparticles do more with less.

For external applications, Silver Biotics Gel is my go-to. It’s excellent for cuts, scrapes, and rashes and is safe for use around the eyes (pinkeye) and mouth. I’ve even applied it externally for ear and throat infections in children who struggle with oral medications. It also makes a great alternative to hand sanitizer, as it supports skin health rather than drying it out. I keep a small bottle in my purse because it’s one of the most frequently used remedies in my kit.


3.    Agrisept-L. A water purifier that cleanses the water in your cells when you drink it. I put several drops in our water bottles while traveling or if we suspect we may be exposed to illness. If illness does strike, take 10 drops in a shot glass of water 3x daily until symptoms are gone (thankfully, it shouldn’t take more than a few shots to knock any illness out.)  This is a blend of grapefruit seed extract with other citric ingredients - the flavor is strong but it’s very effective. I have much better results with this than GSE alone. This is the only supplement I will source from Amazon because it is harder to get.


4.      Arnica montana - Like silver, I use several forms of this because it's so useful. Arnica is a must-have for life’s inevitable bumps, bruises, and muscle strains. I keep Arnica gel in my gym bag and purse for quick relief—it’s perfect for soothing sore muscles and reducing swelling from minor injuries. Just apply it directly to the affected area, but avoid broken skin (for that, use silver gel instead).

For deeper healing, Arnica montana pellets work internally to speed recovery from injuries. A few pellets under the tongue can quickly reduce swelling, ease muscle soreness, and help little ones bounce back faster from falls. I’ve found that 12x or 30C potency both work well, so I use whatever I have on hand. Take a dose immediately after an accident and repeat as needed until symptoms improve.


5.      Rescue Remedy – this comes in spray, drops, or gummies – I prefer gummies for the fun factor. Immediately after any incident causing fear, it will calm the mind to think more clearly. Use it after an accident while deciding whether you need to go to the ER – both the child and Mom need it at that moment! Panic attacks, grief ambushes, and test anxiety are examples of where this would be used. Like Arnica, use it as needed. I often pop a gummy into a child's mouth to soothe him while I apply Arnica gel to a bruised shin.


6.      Cell Salts/Bioplasma. This is a variant of homeopathic medicine,  a combination of 12 mineral salts that are considered the basis of proper structure and function in the body. Hyland’s markets it as Bioplasma in a dissolvable pellet form, other brands call it Cell Salts in a liquid. Many of our foods contain neurotoxins which cause your mind to race or don't allow your body to relax at the end of the day. A dose or two of this will detoxify and allow you to sleep. It's also the first thing to think of when a headache comes on for the same reason. Cell salts are different from the trace minerals in Celtic Sea Salt because they are in homeopathic form and work on a more fundamental level. Both are essential minerals needed by the body, but while sea salt provides building blocks for the body, cell salts organize and direct how those blocks should be used in the body.
